I think it's simply a matter of which you enjoy more. Just pick a class you enjoy playing and go with it. I know people from every profession who've gone for these titles ^^

The way I see it, a character you enjoy playing would be the best way to go.

I'm working on titles on my Ele...I find using an offensive character easier to manage the henchmen with. If I play as a non-offensive monk, say, with henchmen I find it harder to call targets whilst keeping them alive.

If it really doesn't matter to you which character you choose I'd vote Ele or Ranger to play through Hard Mode with.

I'd say elementalist, too. They're very durable if you use more than fire magic. I use an earth build, and although it lacks the raw power of fire, it's definitely very useful at keeping the monks and backrow alive.

If you're using hench, using a monk is far harder and far more frustrating than using a damage dealer. The amount of time your hench warrior stands gaping at you like a fish out of water when you tell them to attack something as a monk annoys me extremely.

I'll add the 3.th vote in a row for Elementalist - but I aggree with CB that Ranger might be good too!

(got 11 titles so far on my Ele. and 4 more well on the way )

Cheers!

I'd say Necro.. I started playing Nec after I had the game for a few monthes and have never looked back. They're quite useful and very powerful. They can be used in many different ways so they are flexible enough to adapt to any envrionment or situation. I will agree tho with Ele, they're good too. I prefer Earth magic on Ele. Fire? meh. I find Earth and sometimes water mag a LOT more useful than fire but.. I'd still go Necro. versatility ftw

I'm doing it with my Ritualist. So far easy to accomplish with henchies or with humans.

Like most people, I'd do it with the character I prefer. I wouldn't want to stick to a character I dislike for months on end for a couple titles.

But if you like them all equally, I recommend going as an elementalist, monk, or warrior.

Quick title breakdown imo:

-Sunspear/LB Title: Mindless sunspear/LB pt farming, any character type is adequate.
-Cartographer: this title, simply put, requires patience any char can do it.
-Protector: Very easy title with Hero+Hench, once again any char can do it.
-Gaurdian/Vanquisher titles: A bit more difficult. This is where your selection of a particular character type really comes in handy. I Prefer monking, because I find my hero's inadequately use prot skills. However if you want to out dmg the opposition, I would go with Elementalist (which is apparently the front runner).
-Gladiator Title: I prefer Monk all the way. Here it is all about what you excel at in PvP play.
-Wisdom/Treasure Hunter titles: Warrior/Ranger types do chest runs often.

*Note: If you are going for all of the titles make certain when you vanquish an area you also rim the perimeter to help fascilitate the Cartographer title.

PS I strongly agree with Darkoba -- enjoyment of the particular character type is the most important factor. Those titles do take time to obtain so you will be playing that particular char for quite sometime.

Elementalist or Ritualist for sure. Elementalists are somewhat simple so you can concentrate more time on coordinating heroes and henchmen. You can also go Air for blind/weakness/knockdown, or chuck in some wards for support.

Ritualists are really powerful in PvE thanks to their spirits, and are very versatile so I'm sure they can do anything. :P

Best class to farm Sunspear title is actually Sand Wurm though.

I'm working on Vanquishing with my Mesmer. (13 titles ATM) Why? Because I have tons of fun with her, and seem to be doing OK. It might be fun trying it with a Warrior, too.

That really is the bottom line - which do you enjoy playing more, along with which profession you have the most success with. (Makes the grind a lot more bearable!)

that is a good choice. hard mode RoT missions without a good mesmer would have really sucked.

I made an absolutely outstanding build of shut downs, damage and interrupts on my mesmer. It's perfect if you know what to cast and when to cast it. Then I gave it to Gwen... She may as well have a sword, because with long range spells, she runs in next to my warriors. I've never really tried a mesmer in PVE. In PVP, they are excellent.

But you're right about a mesmer definitely being able to take down key targets in PVE mercilessly. Monks rendered useless, elementalists chasing their own tails... I just wish Gwen can use the build I give her and stop casting empathy on monks...

Well Ranger would be best for the explorer titles, Elementalist would be best for protector and guardian because it's easier to control henchman when you're an offensive profession. I also like monk for protector because you can keep key NPC's alive if the situation arises.
